How the garden is used:

Since the garden was planted at the end of the growing season, we anticipate it being used for the following reasons:

-supplement to the school’s food service program

-present an alternate setting for classroom curriculum or fine art performances

-enhance the campus for graduation reception and pictures for formal dances

-encourage community gatherings like “Meet Your Farmer” or taste-testing

-provide a community site for the pick-up of CSA foods

Favorite student garden activities:

While the members and advisors of the JEHS Ecology Club had a fun time planting the garden, we most look forward to seeing the garden bloom and grow.  The club members did enjoy presenting the garden during the Halloween community trick-or-treating night.  A giant, inflatable spider greeted costumed guests while luminaries searched for ghosts and goblins.
