Get Active Wood County’s vision is that all students have access to healthy snacks and cafeteria menu items during the school day, as well as more opportunities students to be physically active. We are working with all Wood County public school districts to achieve this vision by:
- Growing a Farm to School program that continues to bring locally grown produce and other foods into school cafeterias and snack shops.
- Instituting a healthy vending machine labeling initiative.
- Implementing Fit-tastic, an afterschool program that emphasizes healthy eating and physical activity.
- Rewriting school wellness policies to better address increased access to healthy foods and more opportunities for physical activity for all students.
